100 Common Misconceptions(part 1: BIology)

So... in my last post, I talked about Mary Pope Osborne's many misconceptions so I decided to make a list of common ones that really get on my nerves.
1: Daddy Longlegs are the most venomous spiders in the world. Nope. Not at all. They aren't even spiders.
2: Arteries are red, Veins are blue. Nope, wrong again. Arteries are bright red and veins are are deep red.
3: Dinosaurs were the biggest animals ever on earth. No, they weren't. Blue whales are bigger.
4: The scientific term for lava is magma. No, Lava is molten rock above the rust, Magma is beneath.
5: Spiders are insects. No, they are arachnids.
6: The largest muscle is the quadriceps. No, it is the gluteus maximus: Your upper buttocks
7:  Butterflies come out of cocoons. No, moths come out of cocoons, butterflies come out of a chrysalis.
8: Wasps and Hornets are bees. No, they just aren't.
9: Red meat is bad for you. Not really. Processed meat is though.
10: Cracking your knuckles gives you arthritis. No, it isn't dislocating anything, it just releases tiny gas bubbles in between your joints.
